When you think about what the most used room is in your entire house, the majority of homeowners tend to answer with ‘the kitchen’. The kitchen is not only the place where you prepare meals, but it also tends to be the hub of the home where socializing and entertaining also takes place. If you’re the type that likes to hosts friends and family for meals, then it gets used that much more. With that said, it’s also normal that it starts to show signs of wear and tear a whole lot faster than the rest of your home.

If your kitchen is starting to look and feel outdated and is no longer functioning the way you need it to be, then a renovation project could be needed. Here we’ll take a look at some great ways you can spruce up the kitchen, from small projects to massive ones, and how you can go about paying for the projects.

Small Projects with Maximum Impact

For homeowners who aren’t prepared to undergo a massive renovation project, there are plenty of little things you can do that will still have a big impact on the look and feel of the kitchen.

Painting is a fabulous and cost-effective way to change the look of the kitchen. It will instantly freshen up space, and give it a new modern feel. It can also make the room feel larger and brighter depending on the color you picked.

Changing out the kitchen cabinet hardware is another fast and easy renovation project that you can do yourself. It will give the illusion of brand-new cupboards, yet you didn’t have to spend a fortune.

Adding a backsplash and replacing the current countertop are also other ways you can go about changing the look of the kitchen.

Large Scale Projects that Change the Footprint

If you’re okay with a larger scale project and don’t mind spending the extra cash and time on it, then you can look at things like replacing the flooring, replacing the cabinets, tearing out walls, reconfiguring the entire layout of the kitchen, and even expanding it.

How to Pay for It?

In order to come up with the money to pay for your kitchen renovation project, there are a few routes you could go down. You could take time and save up the cash needed; you can apply for an extension on your credit limit on your credit card; you can take out a personal loan or line of credit with your bank; or use payday loans if you’re looking for a small amount of cash fast that you can pay back in 28 days or less.

Readies is an example of a company that offers quick payday loans of up to £2,500. You can choose the amount you need and the duration that you’ll take to pay it back, up to 28 days.

The Kitchen You Have Been Dreaming Of

With these project tips, and ways to fund your project, it won’t be long until you get the kitchen you’ve been dreaming of.

10 Vital Tips to Help Wealth and Success Become a Reality

$

Success leads to happiness, healthy relationships, and is good for your satisfaction in life.

For wealth and success to become a reality, you must start living a life of taking actions on the things you desire. In addition, creating wealth and becoming successful needs one to follow a few rules and principles consistently to achieve what you want.

It is also important to get guidance from successful people so that you don’t end up taking inappropriate actions that will make it a struggle to reach the level of wealth and success you are looking after.

In this article, you will learn ten vital tips to help wealth and success become a reality as shared by Lauren Godeck, a life coach at EssaysOnTime.com.

  1. Live a Life of Possibilities

First things first, to help wealth and success become a reality; you must believe everything is possible. Although your life might not be the same as your friends’, it does not mean it’s impossible to achieve the level of wealth and success they have achieved. Consider the people who are wealthy and successful as your mentors.

The way you can reach the success and use your wealth is different from someone else. Just believe you can achieve what you want to achieve even if other people don’t believe it.

  1. Own Your Life

Sometimes we waste a lot of time waiting for our breakthrough. We think that by putting our hands active and doing the right things, we will get the keys to our success from someone.

The fact is that if you want to create real success and make wealth in your life, you must know and believe that you are the one to create it. Equally, you must know that you are the one creating a financial struggle.

Being responsible for your own failure could help you change your life. That’s how successful people live. And that’s why most of the middle class and broke people are still not creating a successful life. They think life is something that happens to them and not for them.

Start believing that you are the one to create your own life to help wealth and success become a reality and this is advice shared in most professional writer services all the time.

  1. Don’t Spend Too Much on Mistakes

According to essayninja, if you spend too much on the mistakes you make, you will not focus on how to create wealth and success. You will always stagnate in one place. The more you pay attention to your mistakes the more energy you lose. The more you pay attention to what you want the more energy will flows.

  1. Visualize the Things You Want

Well, the future may not look bright, but you should take the time to visualize the things you want. Have faith that everything is possible and visualize yourself having achieved the wealth and success you want.

Imagine yourself driving that high-end car, living in that bungalow or having a great time. This way you will have more energy to push you towards achieving the things you want.

  1. Focus on the Things You Want

When you let other people or experiences dictate how much you want to become rich, you will hop from one idea to another without succeeding. You will not get the opportunity to put your attention on the things that will help wealth and success become a reality.

Although it’s something you want, don’t be distracted to leave the goals you are working on for that shiny thing.

The best way?

Edu birdie recommends writing that thing down and work on it later.

  1. Take Responsibility for Your Life

You can’t always control what happens to you, but you can control your reaction towards something that happens to you. You also have control over what comes into your life.

If things aren’t working as you wanted, don’t blame someone else for that.

  1. Treat Problems as Opportunity

Every problem has an unseen opportunity that is only visible to those who are committed to achieving wealth and success in their lives. Once you recognize that you will start treating problems differently and overcome them when they occur. Obstacles that are hindering you from achieving wealth and success will become exciting opportunities to help you get the things you desire.

  1. Learn to Manage Your Finances

According to HR Software from the different companies, If you don’t have a system for managing your finances, then forget about becoming wealthy and successful.

If you can’t control the little money you have now, how will it be when you become successful and wealthy?

The same way you manage your money now is the same way you will manage it when you become rich and successful.

Start by building a habit of managing the little money you have and you will be able to manage the wealth and success you are looking after.

  1. Destroy the Limits on Your Income

If you are permanently employed you have a limit on what you can earn. If you want to make wealth and success become a reality, you should eliminate all the limits on your earnings. That means diversifying your money making approaches.

  1. Think About Those Happy Moments You’ve Encountered

It’s not easy to forget a life you lived but ensure you don’t think about your mistakes. Think about the great moments you felt. This will motivate you to work towards getting moments that felt like the ones in the past.

Good things take time. You just need to focus on your intentions so that you don’t waste your energy.

We hope these ten vital tips will help wealth and success become a reality to you.

Eugene Domingo Parodies History in iWant’s ‘Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3’ Series

$

After satirizing the indie film industry and the mainstream rom-com movie phenomenon, the creative duo behind the critically acclaimed “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” movies is back with another laugh-out-loud sequel that lampoons the making of a historical biopic, with Eugene Domingo reprising her lead role – a megalomaniacal and egotistical version of herself.

The latest in the popular trilogy – written by Chris Martinez and directed by Marlon Rivera – the seven-episode mockumentary series “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken” documents the step-by-step process in making a biopic. It starts streaming on iWant this July 17.

In this movie within a series, Eugene’s character pushes the boundaries of her talents and dares to direct, take on the lead role, and produce her own film about Bracken, a mestiza and Jose Rizal’s well-known paramour.

As a first-time director, Direk Uge goes overboard with every aspect of the film, interfering with the costume design, screenplay, musical score, editing, and almost everything else, causing turmoil on set.

In the series, Eugene is joined by other artists who gamely act as “versions” of their actual selves, including Tony Labrusca, who plays as himself and as the hunkiest Jose Rizal ever.

Mylene Dizon and Joanna Ampil also play as themselves and Jose Rizal’s sisters Narcisa and Saturnina, providing tension and sass as they compete for their lady director’s attention and approval.

Award-winning director and writer Jose Javier Reyes, meanwhile, portrays himself and as Direk Uge’s screenwriter who becomes her unwilling partner-in-crime.

To provide the anchor on historical facts, renowned Filipino historian Ambeth Ocampo goes onboard to ground viewers on the true stories and shocking trivia surrounding the historical characters.

“In this era of fakery, fake news, and faking history, ‘Ang Babae Sa Septic Tank 3: The Real Untold Story of Josephine Bracken’ is easily the funniest, most relevant, and most entertaining series you can find on iWant and elsewhere,” said Martinez.

Before the seven-episode series drops on iWant, users can watch the first two “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank” movies for free on the streaming service.

Stream “Ang Babae sa Septic Tank 3,” produced by Quantum Films and Dreamscape Digital, starting July 17 on the iWant app (iOs and Android) or on iwant.ph. Keeping the Family Together in Kapamilya Teleseryes

$
0
0

After a tiring day at school or a hassle commute from work, we always look forward to coming home and being welcomed by our families. Just sharing even short moments with our loved ones takes all the stress away and gives us a break from our hectic lives. A good bonding moment would be watching Kapamilya teleseryes, where our favorite characters have proven to be symbols of sacrifice and devotion we can all strive to be.

After all, before we even had our own barkadas, there were our families, who were the first people to show us what love is and should be.

From stories of parents tirelessly searching for their child or resolving conflicts in the household, here are some of our favorite Kapamilya teleseryes that show a truly Filipino value: strong family ties and commitment to keeping the family intact. Check them out here:

“The General’s Daughter”

In teleseryes, we are often exposed to stories where a parent and a child are separated and eventually become acquainted with each other, only for them to find out later on that they are each other’s long-lost loved ones! Such is the case of Corazon and Marcial (Eula Valdez and Albert Martinez), who probably has the most tragic parent-child story on primetime TV right now. Their biological daughter Arabella (Angel Locsin) was taken away from them and was trained as a military spy by their mortal enemy Tiago (Tirso Cruz III), just so their own daughter could kill them. Through the years, though, Corazon and Marcial never lost hope that their daughter would still be alive. And when they finally found her, they have constantly showered her with love and support, even if Marcial’s position in the military could be compromised.

“Kadenang Ginto”

Romina (Beauty Gonzalez) is a definition of strength. With Daniela (Dimples Romana) as her rival, she has gone to great lengths to protect her family, especially her daughter Cassie (Francine Diaz), from the wrath of her stepdaughter. Romina survived the trauma from getting raped, the death of her husband, her home being engulfed by fire, and most recently, almost losing Cassie after an accident — and all these did not make Romina flinch. Daniela can take away everything – their mansion and their wealth – from Romina, who is still on her feet, doing everything to make sure Daniela will not get her most prized possession: her family. That doesn’t mean Daniela’s maternal instincts are off, though. Since Marga’s (Andrea Brillantes) suicide attempt, Daniela has made significant efforts to attend to her daughter’s needs and defends Marga whenever she gets entangled in any trouble. We may not agree with Daniela’s means all the time, but she is a fighting mom too, and always stands up for her family.

“Sino Ang Maysala?: Mea Culpa”

The internet is divided on whose side they are on in this crime-drama, where two moms are fighting for one child. One is the biological mother, Fina (Jodi Sta. Maria), who has been searching for her daughter since she lost the baby to a child trafficker, while the adoptive mother is a lawyer, Juris (Bela Padilla), who does everything in her power to hide the truth about Leyna from Fina. Both women have had to suffer from their own traumas just to keep their respective families together. Fina has been searching for her lost baby for five years, recently lost her mother, and has had difficulty fighting for the custody of her other son. Juris, on the other hand, was abandoned by her own mom when she was a teenager, which resulted in her overwhelming fear of losing Leyna and the desire to have a complete family. While the two women have differences, what they have in common is their ultimate dream to keep their families together.

“FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano”

Cardo (Coco Martin) is a hero not only for saving lives but also for binding his family together. He had a rough start with his Lola Flora (Susan Roces), but after learning about his grandmother’s sacrifices, he decided to set aside his anger and rebuild their family. His marriage with Alyana (Yassi Pressman) used to be on the rocks, but he later on realized he could not afford to lose another loved one after the tragic death of their son, so he tirelessly pursued his wife and promised to make up for all his shortcomings. Now that he is back on duty as a police officer, he is the binding force that keeps his family intact as he continues to impart to them all the lessons he has learned from his experiences.

“Los Bastardos”

People commit mistakes, and this is something Don Roman acknowledges. That’s why after years of being away from his sons, he now devotes his life to making sure there is peace and mutual respect among his sons and family. It was a struggle getting his sons to get along, what with their clashing personalities getting the most of them. But with the  love and proper guidance from Don Roman, they learned to accept each other and face life together as brothers.

Since its inception in 2001, The Fast and the Furious franchise has become a global juggernaut that expands its audience and builds box-office momentum with each new chapter, thrilling and entertaining fans with spectacular, groundbreaking action and a family of characters who delight and resonate with people in every culture and language.

As the first expansion of the franchise, Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw amps up the sharp-edged humor and high-stakes action like never before and takes fans down a new road as franchise favorites Luke Hobbs (Dwayne Johnson) and Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) forge an unlikely partnership that provides fresh insight into their backstories.

Watch the film’s trailer below:

Dwayne Johnson’s brash, trash-talking Hobbs, who debuted in 2011’s Fast Five as the relentless DSS agent assigned to capture Dom (Vin Diesel), Brian (Paul Walker) and Mia (Jordana Brewster), was a dynamic adversary. Hobbs, of course, would eventually become an unexpected ally to the team over his four-movie arc, but very little was revealed about his personal history. The revelation in Furious 7 that Hobbs had a young daughter, Samantha, was the first real insight into his backstory.

Johnson always knew that Hobbs was a rich vein waiting to be mined. “From the beginning in Fast Five, the character of Luke Hobbs has resonated with film audiences, and I’ve always been happy with his trajectory over the past four films,” Johnson says. “Creatively though, I felt we would have to eventually spin him off to delve into his life and his family background to see what makes him tick, what makes him succeed and how he handles the failures. To do that is always the challenge when you have a such a big cast, like Fast and Furious has, and I really did want to give this character his due.”

Longtime Fast & Furious narrative architect Chris Morgan had always enjoyed building up the larger-than-life lawman, and had worked with Johnson and Hiram Garcia, president of Johnson’s Seven Bucks Productions, on the Fast films in which Hobbs was featured, to flesh out his character development.

“Dwayne, Hiram and I just jumped in and started bouncing around the types of things Hobbs would do and wouldn’t do,” Morgan says. “We ended up laughing and having so much fun, and I think that comes across on the screen. That’s why this character is so fun to watch, because there’s joy behind everything that we make them do.”

Meanwhile, fans had gotten their first taste of the power of the dynamic between Hobbs and Statham’s Shaw with their epic showdown in 2015’s Furious 7, which had landed Hobbs in the hospital. Hobbs then got the last word, though, when he escorted the disgraced spy Shaw to a super-max prison at the film’s end.

The plot of the next installment, 2017’s Fast & Furious 8, was driven by the storyline of a family fractured by an unflinching villain’s sinister machinations, but the hilariously caustic jailhouse back-and-forth between Hobbs and Shaw set the stage for another mind-blowing showdown as Statham’s Shaw tried to escape and Hobbs tried to stop him.

Shooting those scenes, Johnson and Statham took note of the singular cinematic pairing they were creating. The wheels started turning. “Once filming began on Fast & Furious 8, Jason and I settled into this easy rhythm,” Johnson says. “Not only did we start to breathe this cool energy into our scenes, but there was a unique chemistry that just started to build between us. It was something that we recognized immediately, but we weren’t the only ones. I remember pulling Hiram and Chris Morgan aside and they agreed. Hobbs and Shaw are two alphas who, even if there is a sliver of common respect between them, hate each other, and that often can be the best impetus in a film.” What became evident to all very quickly was that Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw should have their own film together. The idea for Hobbs & Shaw was born.

About Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw

After eight films that have amassed almost $5 billion worldwide, the Fast & Furious franchise now features its first stand-alone vehicle as Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham reprise their roles as Luke Hobbs and Deckard Shaw in Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw.

Ever since hulking lawman Hobbs (Johnson), a loyal agent of America’s Diplomatic Security Service, and lawless outcast Shaw (Statham), a former British military elite operative, first faced off in 2015’s Fast & Furious 7, the duo have swapped smack talk and body blows as they’ve tried to take each other down.

But when cyber-genetically enhanced anarchist Brixton (Idris Elba) gains control of an insidious bio-threat that could alter humanity forever — and bests a brilliant and fearless rogue MI6 agent (The Crown’s Vanessa Kirby), who just happens to be Shaw’s sister — these two sworn enemies will have to partner up to bring down the only guy who might be badder than themselves.

Fast & Furious: Hobbs & Shaw blasts open a new door in the Fast universe as it hurtles action across the globe, from Los Angeles to London and from the toxic wasteland of Chernobyl to the lush beauty of Samoa.

Directed by David Leitch (Deadpool 2) from a script by longtime Fast & Furious narrative architect Chris Morgan, the film is produced by Morgan, Johnson, Statham and Hiram Garcia. The executive producers are Dany Garcia, Kelly McCormick, Steven Chasman, Ethan Smith and Ainsley Davies.

‘Taste of Manila’ Lights Up the Summer Festival Season in Canada

In August 2017, Canadian English-language newspaper National Post published an insightful industry story entitled, “We will, we will WOK you: How food festivals became the new music festivals”.

In March 2018, Canadian digital and broadcasting company Vice released a story claiming that “Food Festivals Are the New Music Festivals”.

The National Post story stated that “Chefs have been called the new rock stars an uncountable number of times, but the rise of food festivals is perhaps the best example of food’s new position as a dominant cultural factor.”

Why should Filipinos care? Because the biggest annual Filipino street festival in the world outside of the Philippines is, you guessed it, a FOOD festival called, Taste of Manila.

The original concept was simple: flock to Toronto’s “Little Manila”, feast on Philippine delicacies and savor authentic Filipino culinary delights. No 5-star Michelin chefs; just homegrown cooking from the participating vendors’ Filipino roots.

Just how big? When Taste of Manila started in 2014 in the Bathurst and Wilson Avenue area, organizers hoped to get 5,000 attendees. Well, 75,000 showed up that year. Two years later, no less than Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau checked out the Filipino summer event whose attendance had already leapfrogged to 350,000. Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne and Toronto Mayor John Tory have also graced the event.

This year, Taste of Manila is happening on August 17-18, still in Little Manila in North York in the Greater Toronto Area, home of the largest concentration of Filipinos in Canada. The corner of Bathurst and Wilson is considered to be the epicenter of Toronto’s Filipino community, a main watering hole of the vibrant, hard-working Filipinos in Toronto.

But aside from servings of the likes of sisig fries, ukoy or deep-fried shrimp fritters, Pinoy-style pork, chicken and octopus barbeque, and more versions of adobo, pancit, chicharon, lumpia, halo-halo and gulaman that hungry and curious Filipino millennials could handle, Taste of Manila focused on food as the key pillar, but built an ecosystem of festival offerings around it. There are karaokes galore, street wear and gear, Filipino arts, crafts and novelty items, street games, among others, and a two-day program of entertainment, featuring, yes, music and dance.

WORLD-CLASS FILIPINO ENTERTAINMENT

ABS-CBN TFC has been a partner of Taste of Manila and has helped elevate the experience at the event by providing world-class Filipino performers. More details on this to follow soon as the line-up will surely rock modern music lovers in Canada.

ABS-CBN’s MOR 101.9 is holding the Regional Finals of its Pinoy Pop Icon contest on August 17, 2019, the first day of Taste of Manila.

The contest is open to all unsigned Filipino singers who are permanent residents of Canada, aged 18 years old and above. The aspiring contestants can prepare a 3-5-minute YouTube video of two songs, one in English, one in Filipino in a cappella. They can email the video link with their full name and telephone number to tfc_events@abs-cbn.com with the subject line, MOR Talent Search 2019.

Deadline for submission is on July 20, 2019. The chosen finalists will be notified via email and will get the chance to compete at the Taste of Manila for a cash prize of CAD1,000 and a chance to become a digital recording artist under Star Music label in the Philippines.

Linofiel Eroma, chair of Philippine Legacy and Cultural Alliance (PLACA), Taste of Manila organizer, said, “(Taste of Manila) is one of the strongest ways to unite Filipinos to our fiestas back in the Philippines. The main takeaway of attendees and participants is a tasteful experience of Filipino culture, food, entertainment and our world-renowned hospitality. It’s an event that brings out Filipino heritage for everyone in Canada to appreciate and savor.”
