After 7 years with ABS-CBN, Valerie Concepcion returns to the network where she started – GMA-7.

It can be remembered that Valerie Concepcion transferred to ABS-CBN right after Angel Locsin made the “big” jump because they have the same manager. While Angel was given primetime teleseryes, Valerie was given co-hosting stint in the now defunct noontime show “Wowowee.” She also starred in several afternoon soaps like in several episodes of “Precious Hearts Romances” and supporting roles in various teleserye like “E-Boy,” “Angelito: Ang Bagong Yugto,” “100 Days to Heaven” and the ongoing “Dugong Buhay.”

At one point, Valerie also managed to appear on several TV5 shows like “Mga Nagbabagang Bulaklak,” “Talentadong Pinoy” and “Star Confessions” where she portrayed the role of the late Bella Flores.

This June, Valerie can now be seen in the Kapuso teleserye remake of “Anna Karenina” where she will play the role of a kontrabida to the characters of Barbie Forteza, Krystal Reyes and Joyce Ching.

GMA Network is cooking a weekly drama-anthology program for kids to be starred by Kapuso child wonders like Milkach Nacion, Joshua Uy, Marc Justine Alvarez and Jillian Ward.

According to reports, “One Day Isang Araw” is not a remake of the Fernado Poe Jr Movie in the 80s of the same name. It’s actually a play of character names of the four child stars: Joshua Uy is “Juan” (One), Jillian Ward is “Day” (Day), Milkah Nacion is “Isay” (Isang) and Indio’s Marc Justine Alvarez “Sonny” (Araw).

“One Day Isang Araw” will feature different story and it’s going to be helmed by different directors every week. It will air under Saturday’s primetime block although it’s not yet confirmed if it’s going to be pitted against the timeslot of ABS-CBN’s “Wansapanataym.”

The new Kapuso children’s program is set to premiere on June 15, 2013.

Marian Rivera made peace with Karylle with just a smile ending an almost 5-year of misunderstanding between them.

In a report by TV5′s “Aksyon,” Marian Rivera crossed path with the ex-girlfriend of Dingdong Dantes during German Moreno‘s 50th showbiz anniversary celebration at the Performing Arts Theater in Resorts World Manila recently. As witnessed by some members of the press, the Kapuso Primetime Queen smiled at Karylle.

“Wala naman naging problema sa ‘min ni Karylle. Nagkataon lang na ex niya si Dong and naging boyfriend ko siya. So wala. Nag-smile lang ako sa kanya kasi wala naman talaga ako problema sa kanya e,” she said.

Karylle smiled back.

“Ang saya, sa totoo lang, na wala nang issue. Hindi na kami aloof sa isa’t isa. OK na kami. I was really happy na we had that moment kahit papaano. It was a simple gesture but to me it meant a lot,” she said.

ABS-CBN Stars Gerald Anderson, Maja Salvador, Kim Chiu, Xian Lim, Sam Milby, Piolo Pascual, etc. join campaign to help lonely, ailing elephant in Manila Zoo.

The barren, cramped enclosure at the Manila Zoo must seem like a prison cell to Mali, the lonely, suffering elephant who has been confined there for 36 years. That’s why some of the Philippines’ top celebrities—including Sam Milby, Shaina Magdayao, Piolo Pascual, Maja Salvador, Enrique Gil, Gerald Anderson, Kim Chiu, and Xian Lim—have posed for “mug shots” while holding prison-like name cards stating that they want Mali to be freed. “Mali has been sentenced to a life of solitary confinement,” says PETA Asia Campaigns Manager Rochelle Regodon. “But the call for Mali’s freedom has reached a fever pitch, and the scientists, politicians, religious figures, celebrities, and students making that call can’t be ignored forever.”

In her current environment, Mali is denied everything that’s natural and important to her. But in a sanctuary, she would have hectares in which to roam, rivers and ponds to bathe in, and the crucial company of other elephants. A growing number of animal experts, including world-renowned veterinarian Dr. Henry Richardson, Dr. Dame Daphne Sheldrick, and Dr. Jane Goodall, are calling for Mali’s transfer to a sanctuary. Also, Animals Asia, Humane Society International, the Philippine Animal Welfare Society, the World Society for the Protection of Animals, Compassion and Responsibility for Animals, and all the world’s leading animal welfare organizations have come out in support of relocating her.

For the past six months that Senator Bong Revilla has been doing a primetime series in GMA, he said that his desire for doing a teleserye has been fulfilled by “Indio.”

As it is his first teledrama ever, he revealed that the program left a mark on him. “Kapag pinaghirapan mo, mag-mamark ‘yan sa puso mo. Tsaka feeling ko dito ako natutong umarte talaga.” he shares.

Smart will be selecting the best 20 entries in a two-round selection process from May 21 until July 31, and August 16 to October 31 this year. Entries will be judged based on the impact of the project in the community, its novelty and proposed use of technology.

Voting of best entries via social media will also have bearing on the final score of entries.

Each of the selected social good advocates, 10 for each round, will receive a technology package comprising five tablets, 1 Smart Bro Pocket Wi-Fi, Smart Bro load worth P3,000.00, and a cash prize of P50,000.

Angel Locsin and Phil Younghusband are celebrating their 1st year as a couple today, May 27, in Singapore. Are we hearing wedding bells soon?

In a taped interview by “The Buzz” on Sunday, Phil answered the “wedding bells” question:

“Not yet, not yet. Like I’ve said, I wanna be with Angel but I didn’t propose yet. In the future, I plan to, but not yet,” he said.

But is it possible that he propose to Angel this year (2013)?

“Oh, I don’t know, I don’t know with the idea. She still has her career. I want to support her. I think this year is probably too soon. But I just wanna be with her,” he replied.

Angel followed Phil in Singapore to watch the latter’s team’s (Loyola Meralco Sparks) match against Malaysia’s Harimau Muda. The Philippine team led by the Azkals superstar won 3 to zero.

The drama series that swept the nation in the 80s returns to primetime television tonight on ABS-CBN before TV Patrol. The ABS-CBN remake features rising teleserye princess Andrea Brillantes with an ensemble of today’s most respected young actors.

Andrea, who has proven her acting prowess by playing remarkable roles as Princess in E-Boy, young Jessy Mendiola in Sabel and Paraiso, young Kim Chiu in Ina Kapatid Anak, and young Andi Eigenmann in Kahit Puso’y Masugatan, now embarks on the first title role of her career – “Annaliza.”

Afraid of being caught red-handed, Makoy leaves the child to his best friend Guido, a fishport worker. Despite his average and simple life, Guido wholeheartedly accepts Annaliza and raises her as his own daughter.

Annaliza begins to endure challenges and hardships in her young life when Guido eventually marries Stella and leaves for Saudi in hopes of giving them a better life. But fate rewards Annaliza’s innate goodness by bringing her closer to Isabel and Lazaro, not knowing they are her true parents.

How will Annaliza discover her true identity? How will she suffer in the hands of Stella? In the end, who will she choose? Her true parents who want to make up for the lost time or the man who raised her and treated her as his own?

Sine Ko 5ingko Premiere’s first week posted strong numbers for the Kapatid Network, as its fresh line-up of Hollywood blockbusters broke into Nielsen Audience Measurement Overnight Ratings’ Top 15 Evening Programs (6:00PM to 12:00midnight).

As the bona fide home of localized Hollywood movie hits, TV5 allows more Pinoy viewers to appreciate these highly celebrated films. With Sine Ko 5ingko Premiere, TV5 takes the Pinoy home movie experience further by bringing together some of local showbiz’s hottest stars to lend their voices to some of Hollywood’s biggest chart-toppers.

The Philippine free TV premiere of G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra last May 20 posted 5.4% AMR in NUTAM and 5.3% AMR in MEGATAM. JC de Vera, who also appears in “Cassandra: Warrior Angel,” voiced the film’s lead character Drake (played onscreen by Channing Tatum). On the other hand, The Day After Tomorrow registered 5.2% AMR in NUTAM and 5.9% in MEGATAM. Tuesday saw two more international hits, Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen and Little Big Soldier, posting strong ratings for the Kapatid Network. Edgar Allan Guzman and Arci Muñoz subbed for Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox for Transformers II, which generated 5.9%AMR in NUTAM and 6.5% AMR in MEGATAM. For its part, Little Big Soldier posted 3.9%AMR in NUTAM while it rated 4.3% AMR in MEGATAM.

The second part of Transformers II: Revenge of the Fallen last Wednesday night saw TV5 posting 7.7% AMR in NUTAM and 8.0% AMR in MEGATAM, beating ABS-CBN’s “Missing You” and “Little Champ” as well as GMA’s “Queen and I.” On the other hand, The Kapatid Network’s airing of Lake Placid recorded 5.1% and 5.6% AMR in NUTAM and MEGATAM, respectively. Thursday features Mission Impossible III (which features the voice of Zoren Legaspi in the lead role portrayed by Tom Cruise) and Agent Cody Banks II beat GMA’s “Home Sweet Home.” Mission Impossible III registered at 5.7% and 6.3% in NUTAM and MEGATAM, respectively; while Agent Cody Banks II posted 4.6% in NUTAM and 5.3% AMR in MEGATAM. Friday’s The Last Airbender, which featured the voices of Artista Academy alumni Akihiro Blanco and Chanel Morales, posted 7.0%AMR in NUTAM and 7.3%AMR in MEGATAM, while Dragonball: Evolution recorded 6.1%AMR and 6.6%AMR in NUTAM and MEGATAM, respectively.

More chart-topping movies await Kapatid viewers on Sine Ko 5ingko Premiere as the movie extravaganza continues until the first week of June, with even more Pinoy A-listers sharing their voices to international hits.
