Philippine Box Office (March 20 to 24, 2013): Star Cinema’s “Must Be…Love” starring Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla hits P60.74 million at the local box-office on its second week. Animated flick “The Croods.”
“Must Be…Love” is on track to become the highest-grossing Filipino movie for 2013 so far by virtue of its P17.9-M haul at the box office last weekend and two-week total of P60.74 million. It only needs P4 million more to surpass the earning of the previous Star Cinema movie “A Moment in Time” starring Coco Martin and Julia Montes which had a four-week gross of P64.54 million.
“The Croods” captures the no. 1 position for the period with P22.66 million opening weekend gross. Previous leader, “Oz the Great and Powerful,” settled for 3rd while “Jack the Giant Slayer” is still strong at no. 4.
Debuting films “The Incredible Burt Wonderstone,” “Apartment 1303,” “So Undercover,” and “Chasing Mavericks” took 5th, 6th, 7th and 9th slots, respectively.
